AgentVocal · identity · round 2
Round 1 was wrong twice over. It let the marketing site's linocut art direction dictate the company logo, and it shipped shapes with no concept: a circle with letters typed inside it, a stock handset, a stock speech bubble. This round starts from the opposite premise.
A company logo has to outlive any one site's art direction. It sits on the navy portal, an app icon, an invoice, a Stripe receipt, a deck, and a truck. So everything here is judged on a neutral board, not on Union Grade cream, and every mark is built on one 100-unit grid with consistent weights.
01
Each one carries a reason to exist. Judge the silhouette first: if it does not survive as a black shape at thumbnail size, nothing else matters.
The front-desk bell. Says reception before a single word is read, and nobody in voice AI owns it, the category is all soundwaves and bubbles. The red knob is the thing that always gets answered.
One solid form doing two jobs: the letter A, and a V cut out of its foot. The initials become a single shape instead of two letters parked next to each other.
A speech bubble built in the shape of an A, its crossbar knocked out in white. Warm, rounded, and the friendliest of the set without going cartoon.
A and V are the same shape inverted: the call comes down, the job goes up. Strongest silhouette here, though it sits closest to a pure geometric symbol.
The same bell with two strokes of sound on it. This is the expressive version for large surfaces and animation; the plain bell stays the one that has to work at 16px.
02
Alfa Slab is the marketing site's display voice, not a logo face: too much personality to sit on a portal login screen for five years. These are four modern faces set at logo tracking. The winner gets its letterforms redrawn by hand afterwards, which is how wordmarks are actually made.
Warm geometric. Reads confident without shouting; the strongest all-round candidate.
Rounder and lighter on its feet. Friendlier, slightly more consumer.
Technical, quirky terminals. Says software company loudest.
Tight and serious. The most enterprise of the four.

Shown with The Bell and Plus Jakarta, purely so the relationships are visible. Any mark can be swapped in once you pick a direction.

04
The real test. Marketing cream, white documents, ink stage, navy portal, with no redrawing between them.
05
App icon down to browser tab. Nothing here relies on detail that disappears.
